What size conduit is needed for 10 2 wire?
1/2″ would be fine for up to 4 #10 THWN conductors (you’ll need 3). I might size up a bit just to make the pulling easier. You need to be down 18″ if you’re using sched 80 (which is advisable).

How far can I run 10 2 wire?
The size of the wire you run to your shed depends on how far away it is and whether you use 120V or 240V. If your shed is 50 feet from your breaker box, you can use 10/2 AWG UF-B wire for a 120V circuit up to 20A. This will allow you to run multiple machines at the same time while providing light to your shed.
Can you use 6’3 conduit wire?
A 6/3 wire can fit a ¾ conduit. But the number of cables you can fit in the conduit will depend on the type of conduit. For instance, a ¾-inch PVC Sch 40 conduit can accommodate 21 14AWG wires and 15 12AWG wires. On the other hand, a ¾-inch PVC Sch 80 conduit can accommodate 17 14AWG wire and 12 12AWG wire.
How many circuits can you fit in a 3/4 conduit?
A. Master electrician Rex Cauldwell responds: For practical purposes, the maximum number of 12-gauge THHN conductors for a 3/4-inch EMT conduit is nine. The answer would be different for another type of conduit (for example, ENT), or if the conductor had a different insulation type or different outside diameter.
How many wires can you put in 3/4 PVC?
Conduit Fill Table
Where is PVC conduit not allowed?
Ambient temperature — PVC conduit isn’t permitted to be installed if the ambient temperature exceeds 50°C (122°F) [Sec. 352.12(D)].
What type of fitting is used to extend one conduit to another?
Conduit couplings are essential for almost any coupling system, for securely linking together lengths of conduit and attaching site-fabricated bends. Even though PVC conduits with a belled side can be linked without couplings, they would still be needed for sections where the conduit has been cut to size.

Many electricians struggle with understanding how many conductors they’re supposed to put in a raceway. If you haven’t had a formal education over how to do this, or did not have a good teacher this may be something you struggle with often.
There are 4 different tables that you need to familiarize yourself with in the National Electrical Code. These are:
Chapter 9 Table 1
Chapter 9 Table 4
Chapter 9 Table 5
Annex C Table C.1
Chapter 9 Table 1 is a good place to start as the notes under the tables tell you exactly how to deal with conductors of various types and situations. In this video I go over conduit fill for different sized conductors, same sized conductors, and nipples – when dealing with THHN conductors and EMT (electrical metallic tubing).
Many Electricians carry around an Uglys book, which contains tables on conduit fill. Actually, these tables come from the National Electrical Code Annex C. While these tables are very useful, they are limited in that they show conduit fill for a number of only one size conductor.
What if you have multiple wire sizes that you need to install in that conduit? How do you determine if your conduit can legally handle the amount of conductors you want to install. Now keep in mind that if you install 3 or more current-carrying conductors in a conduit you will also need to derate those conductors, but that is a lesson for another day. Today we are discussing how to size the conduit for the number and size of conductors we want to install. And if the conductors are different trade sizes, then how to determine that fill.
