Understanding the difference between determinate and indeterminate tomato plants is key for all tomato growers. This provides information on the growth habit of the tomato plant, which in turn allows the gardener to make decisions on whether they require determinate or indeterminate tomato plants in their garden based on space, fruiting time frame, etc. This also tells a gardener whether or not they should be pruning their tomato plants.
