6 steps to get rid of the spider house

Just like other pests that enter our homes, eliminating spiders is a multi-step process that includes removing the eggs and adults, then doing what you can to keep them from coming back. Follow these steps carefully to get rid of spiders in your home.

STEP 1: Vacuum your house from top to bottom.

If you’ve spotted spiders, their egg sacs are likely hiding in the darkest crevices of your home. First of all:vacuumthe whole house from top to bottom, including under the sofa in the living room to the corners of the wardrobe. When you start, remove any cobwebs or spiders you encounter and immediately dispose of the vacuum bag.

STEP 2: Make your home less welcoming to spiders.

Your next goal isDon’t encourage spiders to enter your homefrom the beginning. You already know that light attracts insects, and it’s no different for spiders. So this can only help to solve the problem of disabling someoutdoor lamp, or replace the ordinary light bulb with a yellow sodium vapor lamp. While you’re at it, remove unnecessary items from the immediate perimeter of your home. When spiders are attracted to warmth and shelter, piles of leaves andWood pileBest to stay away from home.

STEP 3: Use traps to identify areas that may be infested with spiders.

Go back inside, order a dozensticky trapthroughout your residence. While these squares probably won’t solve the problem on their own — partly because they don’t contain any pesticides — they are steeped in a spider-inducing scent. This means that based on which traps are most active, you can determine which pieces are most vulnerable and proceed accordingly.

STEP 4: Use a non-toxic insecticide.

The next step is to tackle the problem(s) withspider killerof your choice.Non-toxic natural insecticideare preferred, especially in homes with pets and children, and many such products are available at the home center nearest you. Whichever product you choose, apply this solution several times to completely get rid of the spiders, as these insecticides only work through direct contact. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions exactly.

STEP 5: Apply homemade spider repellent.

After spraying an insecticide, follow up with a spider repellent. It’s easy toMake your own mosquito repellent, as many essential oils — including rosemary, lavender, citrus, and peppermint — are considered effective.

In a spray bottle, mix:

  • five to seven drops of essential oil
  • two cups of water
  • a drop of
  • dishwasher soap

Now look for any areas where spiders could enter your home – window frames or spaces around exterior doors, for example. It may take a bit of experimentation to figure out what works best.

STEP 6: Seal all openings to keep spiders out.

The final step is to seal all openings in your home, whethercrack in the foundationor onepleated window. And because spiders can fit through small holes, there’s no need to put nets in the vents. As long as there is a way for spiders to get into your home, you can never really consider the problem solved. It should be noted here that repelling spiders is one of the many good reasons to seal your home, so it’s well worth the effort.

Epilogue

Follow these steps carefully to get rid of spiders in and around your home. Start with a thorough vacuuming, making sure to find the egg sacs as well as the adult spiders. Make a habit of turning offoutdoor lamp, andclean the leavesand other materials that provide homes for spiders or their prey. Use sticky traps to identify infected areas and apply repellents or pesticides as needed.

For long-term control, carefully inspect your home for any spider-infested areas and seal those gaps, which can, of course, be quite small.

See how to get rid of spiders! With these simple steps, you’ll be able to get rid of and kill spiders in your home.

***

In this video, we will show you how to get rid of spiders using the Solutions four step process.

With the warmer months upon us, it’s time to think about pest control. And as the bugs come out, so do the spiders. Spiders are an important part of the ecosystem and can help you with your own pest control, but a lot of the time we don’t want them around — especially brown recluses or black widows that often times deliver a fatal bite.

ID \u0026 INSPECTION:

Some of the most common species you may encounter are wolf spiders, orb spiders, jumping spiders, and the brown recluse and black widow. The good news is that the brown recluse and the black widow are the only life-threatening venomous spiders found in the United States, but that doesn’t mean other types won’t leave a nasty bite.

A lot of the time, identification and inspection go hand-in-hand because it can sometimes be difficult to determine what kind of spider you have. So when identifying a spider, note its size, its color, and its behavior.

Spiders are shy and prefer to stay hidden, so finding spiders around the home may be difficult. Check around your property for webs. Spiders tend to build them in undisturbed areas but typically they might be around ceilings, fixtures, next to windows, and corners of a room. Also check the attic and garage areas. Move things around to see if you can spot spiders and webs.

These steps are important because without knowing exactly where to treat and what to treat for, it can make spider control difficult. The good news is the products in our Spider Kit will eliminate almost any spider problem.

CONTROL:

The third step in the process is control.

The first thing you will want to do is declutter your house. Spiders typically hide in cluttered areas such as attics, garages, or basements. Do your best to throw out or re-organize as much as possible so that the spiders will be more out in the open. This will eliminate their harborage areas and make it easier to see them and apply these control techniques.

Next, we’ll use a product called Reclaim IT with a pump sprayer. Reclaim IT is a powerful insecticide concentrate that will help deliver a quick knockdown and long residual.

Spray outside around windows and doors, around porches, under patio coverings, and along eaves. Inside, spray along baseboards, in closets, and in garages and storage spaces.

After that, monitor spider activity by using Catchmaster 72MB glue boards. These are multi-insect and rodent glue boards that are perfect for capturing stray spiders that can be hard to find.

Lay these out in areas where you have seen spider activity such as in cabinets, closets, storage areas, garages, or attics. The spiders will walk across the boards and get stuck and can then be disposed of. These glue boards will also trap any other crawling pests.

Eliminate spider webs by using Web Out spray. Web Out is a low-toxicity formula designed to break down webs to make cleaning easier while preventing new webs.

Spray any spider webs that you see, usually in dark corners of rooms or along the eaves of a house. Clean up the web by using a broom or or a web duster head. This will discourage spiders from rebuilding their webs in those areas.

PREVENTION:

The final step of the process is prevention.

Keep the spiders away by spraying the perimeter of your home with Reclaim IT. Spray three feet up the structure and three feet out. This will create an insecticidal barrier that will keep spiders away.

Seal off any openings, cracks or crevices you find around your home with caulk.

Be diligent about knocking down any webs you might see.

And continue general pest control practices to keep other bugs away. Remember, insects are a spider’s food source, so if you can control them, you control the spiders.

If you follow these steps, we guarantee you 100% that you will get rid of spiders. Not only will you have eliminated spiders, but you will have controlled other pests too, leaving your property spider free.
