How to Use the Dremel Router Bit Correctly – Route Selection

Different route types will work differently. Because they are made to perform distinct tasks. So your first task is to decide which route will suit your task. Of course, if you don’t really care about that and randomly choose something that doesn’t make sense, damage is inevitable.

Here are some tips when choosing:

  • To create circular, v-shaped, and flat shapes on long surface cuts, select the groove. Ideal for kitchen counters as well as wooden counters.
  • Contour works best for any solid surface that needs interesting contouring. It is also known as the round grove.
  • For any type of trim, you must use chamfers. This will not expand the entire profile of the material. And so, it would be nice to use it as a flat corner.

After choosing the route, you also have to choose a little:

  • If you need to fetch the track and recovery track, choose numbers 654, 652 or 650 which are basically straight bits. These will help achieve a nice square background with groves which is also quite simple.
  • For those who opted for the chamfer and cove countersinking, a pilot drill would be the right thing to hold everything in place. There are two types with this one. 612 is a small bead that would work well for decorative purposes. While the rounded 615 shows amazing results with edge smoothing tasks.
  • To work with decorative V-shaped tracks, you basically need to select the 640-bit or the V-groove.
  • And finally, for routing rails meant to hang niche items like picture frames, it will take some time to create the narrow slots. Such as keyhole, is 655.

Insert the tip correctly.

Hold your Dremel tool with one hand. And take the strawberry with your other hand. Gradually start inserting bits into your Dremel. The hole is right above your tool where the drill bit should go.

This is common to most rotary instruments. After insertion, you also need to make sure it is securely attached and there are no obstructions during rotation.

If you’re working with the Dremel multi-tool, it’s important to secure your sink router attachment. It doesn’t matter if it’s a regular project or any other woodworking task. They are generally great not only for routing circles, but also for keying compositions.

Not to mention the excellent results with cut marks and letters. Edge guides that usually come with attachments will also be needed for straight line routing.

No safety equipment, of course!

If you haven’t ported your property yet, don’t wait. Take this glove on your hand. Make sure accidental cuts never get to you. Wear a dust mask even if it is uncomfortable. And glasses too. Routing is a business that can produce a lot of sawdust and plastic particles, and you don’t want them getting into your lungs or eyes. If possible, buy a pair of insulated earplugs.

Regulator switches must be available. Just move it around until you reach the speed you want to work with. And now that you have inserted the Dremel bit with the adjusted speed, go ahead and start using the tool.

If this is your first time using a woodworking tool, not just the Dremel tool, be sure to read the instructions that come in the tool’s packaging. In addition, you should hold the tool firmly in your hands and ensure that it never comes close to your body during operation.

Pack (again)

Here is how to use Dremel Router Bits after selecting the correct route as well as the appropriate bit. Of course, this is all part of the usage package. And so you should never ignore these issues and try something without proper knowledge.

Especially those who have little idea about power tools for woodworking. Even with drill bits, you should practice first before involving an expensive part. After use, remember to store the tool and properly clean up any waste.
