This simple way to get rid of your laundry will truly change your life and shake up your world! Powder Tide, Borax, Arms

Accept. This is a super random post but not related to food. Laundry Stripping 101. All about disposing of your laundry – everything you need to know about it.

If you follow me oninstagramthen a few weeks ago you found me sitting in the bathroom stirring a tub full of black water with clothes in it.

You can check out my full story on how to get rid of your laundry detergent here!

pictures of a bath tub filled with dirty water from stripping our laundry

Enable backups to give you context.

I saw someone that I aminstagram”take the laundry off” on their stories. I thought she was crazy. I have never heard of this before. But I was intrigued so I followed everything.

She was taking off her running clothes, I know she runs a lot so I was even more curious. At the end of the 2 minute story, I ran to my car to get everything I needed to start crafting at our house. ?

You see, for 4 years, I haveWE PROHIBITto figure out how to get rid of the horrible smell of our workout clothes.

Our sweatpants, shorts, shirts, tank tops and sports bras are getting LOTS OF LOVE! Working in a gym and coaching track and field for the past 10 years, in addition to being a track and field athlete and raising myself, I live in my workout gear. It’s what I wear 90% of the time.

No one on the planet sweats more than Justin Bilyeu, so his outfits are just as beloved.

I’ll also start by saying that all of our training equipment islululemon. I used to work for them a few years ago (it was great fun and sometimes I miss it) and I swear to always support their products. They invest – believe me, I know. From someone who doesn’t like spending money on themselves, get mine, that’s all I wear and for good reason.

Since I live in these clothes, before Lululemon, I will have to change into pants, shorts, etc. annual. I have mineQuicklyit’s the ONLY thing I’ll use for 4 years and they still look brand new.

This doesn’t just come from the quality of their products, but I take great care of them.

It goes well with any workout equipment you have. You should NEVER I repeat NEVER dry your Lululemon or any other workout clothes you have. You’re basically throwing money away doing this.

always wash them

  • cold
  • sophisticated cycle
  • No fabric softener
  • don’t dry out

It’s the key to washing and caring for your workout clothes, Luluemon clothes, and their extra long life.

Now back to the whole dismantling of your laundry contract.

Because you know how worn and worn our clothes are and how obsessed I am with taking care of them. For 5 years now I have constantly struggled to find a way to get rid of their unpleasant smell.

After a while, you really can’t have fun with your sportswear anymore. If you know, you know. I have tried everything since

  • Hang up your used clothes to let the sweat dry completely before washing them.
  • Hand washing
  • to all kinds of detergents, washing granules and everything else

Nothing works!

And I’m sorry. “Natural and clean” laundry detergent is the BEST of them all!

I tried replacing our laundry detergent with something more natural, cleaner, dye free and removing anything that could cause cancer on your clothes, blah blah blah and no. No thanks. Not for me.

Using natural laundry detergent on your workout clothes is like taking your dirty, sweaty clothes, putting them in water, scrubbing them, letting them dry, and calling them a clean wash.

Where you were a kid who hated taking a bath at some point in your life, so you pretended to shower while sitting in a bathtub full of water, wading around so your parents “hear the water move to know that you’re in the shower”. “Like where do you suppose, and then stupid enough not to bother wetting the bar of soap so you’re completely destroyed and have to come back for a real shower later?

Yes, I did that. And that’s how you can also use natural laundry detergent on your stinky workout clothes. Do not do it.

So, no need to support my endless laundry efforts – getting back to how getting rid of your laundry will solve all your smelly laundry problems.

Also, I couldn’t find this method. After watching my friend do this and looking around I found out that @gocleanco is the master genius behind it all. Here are her recipes and instructions. I just followed T and gave him all the laundry glory. Be blessed @gocleanco! Blessings to you! YOU MUST FOLLOW NOW!

Depending on where you live and the hardness of the water, hard water will build up on your clothes over time. Who knows!

Also, soap builds up and if you use fabric softener(which you shouldn’t wear in your gym clothes)accumulates with other random impurities and odors.

I honestly wonder after all this – what is my washing machine really doing? !

I’m joking. But you don’t mind.

But over time, with wear, these gross things accumulate on our clothesit is difficult to clean them.

It really makes sense.

This process ofbleach clotheshelps get rid of all that trash to get your clothes really clean.

What a concept!

Treat how to undress your laundry:

  1. Fill your tub with HOT water. I like to jog for a few minutes to make sure it’s super warm before I close the drain.
  2. Pour clean clothes inside. There is clean. Take them straight out of the drawer and put them in the tub.
  3. Mix the above ingredients and pour them into a bathtub filled with hot water and clothes.
  4. Use a stiff spatula (thick wooden spoons work but won’t work on towels, consider thick, heavy-duty metal kitchen spoons) toss the clothes and laundry mixture together.
  5. Leave to soak for 4 to 6 hours, stirring every hour.
  6. When the time is up, wring out each item and put it in the washing machine. Run the same load of laundry as you normally would. ** Runs a full cycle – no quick wash AND you do NOT need to add soap as they are already in
  7. soap for hours. **
  8. Dry as usual.

How do I separate my gym clothes to take them off?

One of the biggest questions I get is how do I separate things when I do this and if something bleeds.

The answer is both yes and no. Here’s how I did it.

  1. A load of us all
  2. jogging pants, shorts,
  3. One of my charges
  4. our sports bras, tank tops and running shirts.
  5. To separate
  6. mini load in my sink
  7. white tops.

Will my clothes bleed?

Our first 2 models of pants, shorts, tank tops and shirts -ARE NOT.

These fabrics all absorb perspiration(or smooth breathable material)and no bleeding. Anyway, our pants and shorts are mostly dark – but not our shirts. I have no problem with it but this fabric does not bleed.

However, my pink/red/purple fillers did. But they are another softer material. So I thought they would and that’s why I made them in the sink.

My whites I want to appropriate because they are white. And to be honest, I doubted it would work, and I had the hardest time keeping my fair skin, especially Lululemon, white, glowing, and dull-free.

I have 3 white and 2 white love t-shirts that quickly look awful. Yellow, dusty pits quickly filled the sleeves of my long sleeves. And nothing I do will ever take away his gray dirt or his t-shirts that don’t look dull. So here’s a test to see if it really works and it’s awesome!

PRO TIP:if you own Lululemon Swiftys or any of their products with Silverescent® Odor Control Technology, youCANNOT use Oxiclean on them.It had a weird reaction and caused stains that couldn’t be removed (without peeling it off – it took all that stuff away!??)

I WANT to have a bad before and after photo. This is a real test to know that bleach is gold and works! My white love t-shirts look brand new and I’ve taken all the dirty gray stuff out of my Swifty!

Did I take off anything other than my sportswear?

  • White sheet and blanket
  • White towels and washcloths
  • Kitchen towels and heating pads
  • All our underwear and my sports headbands

Can I use liquid tides instead of powder tides?

This is the second most asked question I get and the answer isARE NOT.

You just need to use Tide Powder for this.

Some people are allergic to Tide. If you use another detergent. Tide is best and powder is needed.

Where did you find all the ingredients you need for laundry?

I found everything atwalmart!

Exotic Tide powder is the hardest to find. I had to go to 2 Walmarts to find everything.

Kroger doesn’t have almost everything. Just go to Walmart.

Some people had trouble findingCalgon. They sell it onAmazonalso if you just want to order there(affiliate link).

How often should I remove my laundry?

Each3 monthsfor youworkout clothesbe worn all the time.

Each6-9 monthss for things liketowels, blankets, etc..

How do we undress?

Just follow the recipe above. Ours really isn’t that bad. That’s a good thing I guess lol.

What if I’m allergic to the tides? What else can I use?

I have seen several people tell me that they are allergic to Tide powder. If so, try usingFree and gentle tide*(still in powder).

If that still doesn’t work for you, try using any other hypoallergenic laundry detergent. I haven’t done it so I don’t know if others have done the same. If you use Tide Free and Gentle or whatever, let me know how it works!

Fill a tub, sink, or large bucket with hot water. Create the perfect laundry detergent recipe by adding borax, washing soda (soda ash), and laundry detergent in a 1:1:2 ratio. For bath, add 1/4 cup borax, 1 /4 cup washing soda detergent and 1/2 cup laundry detergent. Stir until completely dissolved.

Can we put laundry in a plastic bin?

Most people just use their tub, which means they use about 30 gallons of water (yes, that’s a lot of water), but you can also use a large plastic bucket or sink – it’s enough to adjust the flow.

Is laundry pickling a hoax?

According to experts, bleaching clothes is not only ineffective – and therefore a waste of time and money – but can also cause damage. “I don’t recommend people wash their clothes often,” says Ahoni. “The hot water temperature can damage fabrics and cause them to age prematurely.

Can I pickle seamless linen?

To whiten seamless clothes, you need to use soda crystals or laundry detergent. Let the cloth soak for 4 to 6 hours, stirring every hour. This means adding a pot of boiling water to the tub every hour. Take the laundry out of the tub and put it in the washing machine.

Can clothes be bleached with baking soda and vinegar?

Unsticking laundry in the washing machine For the first time, use hot water and a cup of white vinegar instead of detergent. On the second round, replace the soap with half a cup of baking soda and rinse with warm water. Dry them thoroughly at the highest temperature or dry them on a sunny day.

Is stripping the laundry necessary?

Washing “Stripped” sounds like a good idea, because you know, you want your clothes and towels clean. And the bad shower water seems to prove that the virus theory is correct. But according to laundry expert Patric Richardson, if you wash your clothes properly, you don’t really have to take your clothes off.

Can you use oxiclean to whiten clothes?

Fill the tub with hot water and add a lid full of laundry detergent, a scoop of Oxi-Clean, about 1/4 cup of borax, and about 1/4 cup of baking soda. I use a large spoon (never used for eating or cooking haha) to stir everything up, then throw away all the clothes I want to take off.

Can I undress without washing soda?

For this reason, I don’t recommend using homemade laundry soap to whiten clothes. I find powder detergents work better than liquid ones. If you don’t have Borax, Lye, or Calgon, you can make one without one of these. I find they really work together to deliver the best results.

What can I use instead of solder?

Instead of sprinkling molasses at the bottom of the trash can, try using baking soda or even ground coffee. They do wonders. You can also use baking soda to clean your garbage cans. Add a little vinegar for an extra deodorizing effect.

What effect does Borax have in laundry detergent?

NEUTRALIZES LAUNDRY ODORS: Borax inhibits fungi and mold4, which normally thrive in the humid environment of your washing machine and are known to cause musty smells. It also helps eliminate ammonia odors in baby clothes, diapers, bedding and incontinence pads.

Is baking soda the same as baking soda?

Baking soda is not the same as baking soda. They are two different compounds and they are used for completely different purposes. Washing soda, also known as soda ash (or soda ash), is a natural cleaner and powerful water softener.

Is vinegar or baking soda better for laundry?

Baking soda in laundry can be a great addition to a natural fabric softener or for controlling excessive stains, while vinegar in laundry can be a great agent for brightening whites and deodorizing mildew. They make the best laundry detergents more effective.

How much baking soda should I add to my laundry?

Is borax or baking soda better for laundry?

Baking soda and borax are effective because they are alkaline and abrasive. But Borax has a higher pH than baking soda, making it a slightly harsher but arguably more effective cleanser.

For bath, add 1/4 cup borax, 1 /4 cup washing soda detergent and 1/2 cup laundry detergent. Stir until completely dissolved.

How do hotels keep their white towels?

How does the hotel keep the towels so white? Most hotels tend to use standard white towels to match their interior design. According to a hotel manager, they have to take care of all the stains on the laundry first. Then they throw them into a large basin filled with a mixture of baking soda, laundry detergent or soap, and cold water.

Does laundry stripping work? Laundry stripping is effective because of its chemical solution of Borax, powdered detergent and washing soda along with extra hot water. This method will indeed break down build-up on clothes, but it could also leach out dye and naturally-occurring oils in fabric.

Can you strip laundry without Borax?

For laundry stripping without borax, you need to use laundry soda crystals or laundry detergent powder. Laundry detergent powder and laundry soda make your laundry stripping without borax.

Is stripping laundry necessary?

When — and how — to do it

At most, laundry stripping should only be done once or twice a year, such as when white towels and sheets start to yellow or colored linens start to flake, indicating a buildup of dirt and laundry detergent.

Which is better OxiClean or borax?

Not only is OxiClean the safer option, but it comes in several forms, including powder, liquid spray, and laundry detergent; borax is only sold as a powder. Learn more about the many ways you can use OxiClean on Amazon or OxiClean.com.

Can I strip laundry without washing soda?

For that reason, I do not recommend using a homemade laundry soap for laundry stripping. I find that a powder detergent works better than liquid. If you do not have borax, washing soda, or Calgon, you can make it without one of them. I find that they really do work together to give the best results.

Can you use OxiClean for laundry stripping?

For most laundry stripping in standard size tubs, follow this recipe: ¼ cup ARM & HAMMER Super Washing Soda. ¼ cup Borax. ½ cup ARM & HAMMER™ Plus OxiClean™ Powder Laundry Detergent.

Can you strip laundry with baking soda?

Stripping your laundry is easy, too. You simply fill your bathtub with hot water and let your laundry soak in a mixture of baking soda, Borax, and laundry detergent. It works great for towels, bedsheets, and other linens, but you can also use the method for clothes if you do so with care.

Is washing soda the same as baking soda?

Washing soda is not the same as baking soda. They are two different compounds and are used for completely different purposes. Washing soda, aka sodium carbonate (or soda ash), is a natural cleaner and a powerful water softener.

Can you strip laundry with vinegar?

When using vinegar to strip excess detergent you’re going to use more than when you use vinegar as a fabric softener in the final rinse. For loads where stripping excess detergent is the goal, use 1 cup of white vinegar for every gallon of water.

What does Borax do in laundry?

Neutralize laundry odors: Borax inhibits fungi and mold4, which often grow in the moist environment of your washing machine and are notorious for giving it a musty odor. It also helps to get rid of ammonia odor in baby clothes, diapers, bed pads, and incontinence pads.

Today I’ll be showing you how to strip laundry in the bathtub using the TikTok laundry hack that is going viral. I’m using borax, baking soda, and tide laundry detergent. This is my first time trying this method – you’ll get to come along with me and see if it makes a difference in cleaning the stains out of my towels, and dingy white tennis shoes. I hope you enjoy!

TikTok Laundry Striping “Recipe”:

¼ c Borax

¼ c Baking Soda (Laundry Boosting baking soda recommended)

1 large scoop of powder Tide laundry detergent (just the traditional Tide powder)

Directions:

Put your laundry that you wish to strip in your bathtub, and fill the tub with water. Once your laundry is saturated, pour in your cleaning agents. Stir them around in the product with the back of a broom (or a similar stick), and allow them to sit for 6-10 hours, stirring occasionally.

When they are done soaking, drain your tub, and transfer to washing machine. Wash normally with minimal detergent (the fabric will have some leftover detergent on it from the bathtub soak).

Lina from Hip2Save is back again talking about laundry stripping! Ever heard of laundry stripping?! We really hadn’t either until we started seeing murky water videos and pics trending on social media.

Basically, people soak their towels in bathtubs filled with hot water and a laundry stripping solution. This process supposedly helps bacteria, body oils, dirt, fabric softener build-up, and more get released along with the hard to remove stinky smells. 😳

Laundry is NOT one of our favorite chores. In fact, it may just be many of our least favorite household activities EVER, but seeing intriguing videos of laundry stripping had suddenly perked our interests.

For laundry stripping, you’ll need 1/4 cup Borax + 1/4 cup washing soda + 1/2 cup powdered detergent. Be sure to check out our post for the full directions and all of the details –
