Multi-read content what setting do you wash bed sheets on

Your bed is the ultimate resting place after a long, tiring day. For a good night’s sleep, make sure you have clean, fresh and fragrant sheets. Follow these tips on how to wash your sheets for a good night’s sleep.

Read labelsMost sheets can be washed in a regular washing machine. However, some have special fabrics that need to be washed separately.Read labelsto make sure you don’t damage your sheet.

Use the right temperature and settingsUnless extremely dirty, linens do not need to be washed more than once. For this reason, sheets clean themselves on a regular, regular, or color cycle. Moreover, pPolyester blends are best washed in warm water while cotton fabrics can be washed in hot water. Even better, hotter water kills more germs and dust mites that live in bedding.

All about dryingAlthough bedding takes longer to dry than a normal amount of clothing, leaving it too long in the dryer will cause it to shrink. Dry the paper at low temperature for a short time. This minimizes the risk of shrinkage and reduces creasing. Also, avoid drying the sheets with towels to prevent overdrying. Sheets dry faster than towels, so they are still wet when washed.

Additional tipsHere are some additional tips on how to wash bed sheets:

  • Try to have three sets of sheets for your bed. This way you always have clean sheets when another set is washing.
  • Do not overload the washing machine. If you stuff multiple sheets in a wash cycle, they will rip or tear and won’t clean well.
  • Store new leaves in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Come to think of it, you’ve spent a lot of time on your sheets. Every night, germs, sweat and other substances from the day build up in your sheets. Wash sheets regularly and properly to get the most out of them. Don’t have time? Drop them in aZoom Express Laundrynear you and we’ll wash and fold them for you before you go to bed!

Why Do I Need To Wash My Sheets?

Before I reveal exactly how often you should be washing your sheets, let’s talk about why you need to wash them.

Dust Mites – Every night as you roll around in bed, you shed thousands and thousands of skin cells, with any dirt or sweat going right into your bedding. And to make matters ickier, dust mites actually feed on those shed skin cells.

Allergens – A buildup of sweat and skin cells is reason enough to keep your sheets clean, but keep in mind that a great many of us are allergic to dust mites! Regularly washing your bedding can serve to keep those allergens at bay, and prevent you from waking up with a stuffy nose.

Skin Care – In addition to the dust mites hunting for a free meal, bed sheets can collect all kinds of bacteria, fungi, and other allergens that are totally invisible to the eye. Not to mention, makeup and face cream can accumulate in your bedding pretty quickly, which has been known to cause acne and other skin-related issues.
