The first thing you should do anytime you do any electrical work is turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box for safety. To prevent anyone from turning the power back on, post a note that work is in progress. Check the circuit to make sure there is no current.

Decide where you want to install the headlights. You can attach theseoutdoor lampat your garage, outside your home overlooking your porch or patio, or along the fence that lights up your yard. Once you have located your headlights, drill a hole there. Make sure the hole is large enough to place the electrical box.

You will also need to decide where you want to place the light switch. Once you have chosen the location, drill a hole in the wall. Put the wires in the electrical switch box. There are two options for powering your Switch. You can run the cord to the nearest electrical outlet or plug it directly into a circuit breaker if you are running the light on its own circuit.

To connect to a power outlet, unplug the plug from the electrical box. Remove the cover and the plug, then slide them out. Then thread the new wire through the wall until you reach the outlet. Connect the black wire to the black wire of the socket. Do the same with the white yarn. Connect the ground wire then reinsert the plug.

For the second option, run the wire through the circuit breaker box. Thread the wire through the circuit breaker access area, then connect the black wire to the circuit breaker adjustment screw. Attach the white and green wire to the metal rod of the circuit breaker then tighten.
